Pittsfield: BMC to offer pet therapy class

Posted

Berkshire Medical Center’s pet therapy program is offering a Pet Partners Organization pet therapy class and evaluation for those interested in having their pet become part of the program.

The next class will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Berkshire Medical Center.

The Pet Therapy program at BMC offers patients the opportunity to have visits by certified dogs and other pets, if qualified by the program. Numerous studies have shown that pets can have a therapeutic benefit, including lowering blood pressure and reducing stress.
