Pittsfield car crash sends 2 to BMC


PITTSFIELD -- Two were injured following a two-car crash Sunday evening near the Pittsfield Fire Department headquarters.

Around 7:30 p.m., city police responded to the crossroads of Columbus Avenue, Seymour and Center streets where they found the two vehicles in the middle of the intersection.

One car appeared to be crossing from Center to Seymour, while the other was westbound on Columbus.

The driver and passenger of the Columbus Avenue car were taken to Berkshire Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The identities of the crash victims and their conditions weren't immediately available. The operator of the other car wasn't hurt and was able to drive off after speaking with police. The second car was towed from the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
