Pittsfield: 'Cellblock Visions' author to lecture

Phyllis Kornfeld will present "Cellblock Visions: Set Free in the Penitentiary" about her work creating art with people in prisons at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road

This free program is part of the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires' Connecting With Community series.

Kornfeld is the author of "Cellblock Visions: Prison Art in America." She has been working directly with incarcerated men and women around the country for 35 years providing the transformative experience of creating beautiful art.

The program precedes a kosher lunch at noon. Lunch costs $7, $2 for adults over 60 years of age. Lunch reservations are required at 413-442-2200 before 9 a.m. Thursday.
