Pittsfield: Children’s martial arts/self-defense program offered

The Pittsfield Family YMCA announces open registrations for its Martial Arts/Self-Defense program for children in grades 1-8.

The sessions meet from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 14 to March 11, with no class Feb. 18. All classes will be held in the Y’s gymnasium.

Vee Jitsu is a blend of different martial arts, such as Jui Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Aikido and other disciplines, synthesized into an easy to learn, effective form of self-defense, specifically designed for use in the real world.

The cost is $50 for members, $75 for non-members.
