Pittsfield: City announces Memorial Day parade, ceremony


The Memorial Day parade will step off at 9 a.m. Monday, May 26, from City Hall. Staging will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on Fenn Street near City Hall.

The parade will proceed from City Hall to North Street and turn right heading to Wahconah Street, concluding at the Pittsfield Cemetery for a ceremony about 10 a.m.

Mayor Daniel Bianchi will give opening remarks. State Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Peter Gregory will read the Honor Roll and poppies will be placed by Veterans Coalition Commanders for each veteran that passed in 2013 and 2014.
