Pittsfield: City mails dog license renewals

The city of Pittsfield has mailed dog licensing renewals to dog owners. The annual license period for Pittsfield dogs begins April 1.

Massachusetts General Laws requires that all dogs six months or older must be vaccinated against rabies and be licensed by the city. Dogs must wear both the city of Pittsfield license tag and the veterinarian issued rabies tag on its collar.

The licensing fee is $10 for spayed and neutered dogs or $20 for non-spayed/neutered dogs.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Renewals can now be done online as well. Visit the city clerk's page at www.cityofpittsfield.org for more information.

Questions may be directed to the city clerk's office at 413-499-9361.
