Pittsfield: City to hold electronics recycling event

The city will be hosting an electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at 703 West Housatonic St.; enter through the east entrance. Registration is not required.

This event is free to Pittsfield residents excluding TVs/computer monitors ($8), console TVs ($20), and industrial printers/copiers ($0.10 per pound). Cash and personal check will be accepted for these items.

The following items will not be accepted: Propane tanks, gasoline powered items, scrap metal, mercury related items (light bulbs), or freon bearing items (refrigerators).

TVs and computer monitors can also be disposed of at Goodwill on Tyler Street or Best Buy at the Berkshire Mall, and scrap metal can be brought to the drop off area at Covanta on Hubbard Avenue.
