Pittsfield: Coast Guard Auxiliary to host information session
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be hosting an information session at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at City Hall.
Berkshire residents are invited to learn more about the benefits of having a Coast Guard Auxiliary presence in the Berkshires.
During the presentation, local attendees will learn the purpose of the Coast Guard Auxiliary; and what programs and training opportunities it can offer to provide residents with a better understanding of recreational boating education and safety.
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary was founded in 1939 by an Act of Congress as the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and re-designated the Auxiliary in 1941.
