Pittsfield: Conference to address youth suicide prevention
The Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention will hold a Youth Conference titled "Building Resilience & Protective Factors for the Youth in Our Community" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Berkshire Hills Country Club, 500 Benedict Road. Registration and breakfast begin at 7 a.m.
The conference is for all school personnel and anyone who works with or provides services to youth ages 5-22.
Attendees will learn evidenced-based strategies for mental health and guiding youth in the midst of crisis, as well as empowering youth to enhance their own potential.
The cost is $30. Registration includes meals and 6.5 credit hours.
The event is sponsored by Berkshire Medical Center, Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-Western MA Chapter, with support from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Suicide Prevention Program.
