Pittsfield: Conservation Commission plans community forum

The Pittsfield Conservation Commission will be hosting a community forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in City Council Chambers to review findings and recommendations regarding the development of a conservation properties master plan.

The city, in collaboration with graduate students from the Conway School of Landscape Design, is developing a new vision for the following large, city-owned conservation properties: Brattlebrook Park; Barkerville Conservation Area; Tierney Conservation Area; and Wild Acres.

Following weeks of in-depth research into the ecological attributes of each property and usage by the community, numerous findings and recommendations have been developed and will be presented for community review at the meeting.

For more information, contact City Conservation Agent Rob Van Der Kar at rvanderkar@pittsfieldch.com or 413-499-9359.
