Pittsfield: 'Cop on Top' fundraiser for Special Olympics

Law enforcement officers from the Pittsfield Police Department, Berkshire County Sheriff's Office and other local police departments will be taking part in "Cop on Top," a fundraiser for Special Olympics Massachusetts, on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2 and 3, at Walmart, Berkshire Crossing Plaza, 555 Hubbard Ave.

Local officers volunteer their free time and stand high atop Walmart until they reach their fundraising goal of $55,000.

The event will kick off at 9 a.m. Saturday with local law enforcement officers and Special Olympic athletes lighting the ceremonial Special Olympic cauldron that will burn throughout the event.

The event also includes food, a huge prize raffle and giveaways.
