Pittsfield: Downing announces Toys for Tots holiday open house

State Sen. Benjamin B. Downing, D-Pittsfield, will host his annual Toys for Tots Holiday Open House from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at his district office, 7 North Street, Suite 307.

This event is open to the public; the entry fee is a new, unwrapped toy.

Downing and his staff will collect donations of unwrapped toys through Dec. 11. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome; no appointment is necessary to bring a donation or speak with district staff.

At the open house, Downing will announce the winner of his second annual Holiday Greeting Card Design Contest, which received 226 entries from local students in grades 3-8. The winning design will be used as the cover art for Downing's holiday greeting card this year.
