Pittsfield: Downing to reflect on visit to Israel

Outgoing state Sen. Benjamin B. Downing, D-Pittsfield, will describe his recent fact finding visit to Israel at 10:45 a.m. Monday, June 27, at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road.

This free program is part of the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires' Connecting With Community series.

In December 2015, Downing and a delegation from the Massachusetts State Senate traveled to Israel to gain perspective on the complexities and challenges facing the country and the region.

Downing will discuss what he learned over the course of 10 days traveling the country, meeting with government officials and local leaders in religion, academia, media, and business.

The program precedes a kosher lunch at noon. Lunch costs $2 for adults over 60, $7 for all others. Lunch reservations are required by 9 a.m. Monday by calling 413-442-2200.
