Pittsfield: DPW announces Christmas tree disposal options

Wednesday December 26, 2012

The Department of Public Works and Utilities has announced two options for Pittsfield residents to dispose of their Christmas trees.

Residents may take their tree to Covanta Pittsfield on Hubbard Avenue at no cost. All tinsel, lights, and ornaments must be removed from the trees so they can be recycled.

Residents may also place their tree with their trash on the curb for Allied Waste to collect as part of the regular trash collection.
