Posted

The Housatonic Valley Association and Berkshire Environmental Action Team will host the first Earth Day River Festival at Fred Garner Park on Pomeroy Avenue from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday April 23.

The day will kick-off with the park cleanup. Gloves and bags will be provided. A variety of environmental activities begin at 11:30 a.m.

Bring old, even stained, clean clothes for the clothing drive. Food will be available to purchase or bring a picnic. Several Berkshire County environmental organizations will be answering questions.

At midday, paddlers on HVA's Source to Sound Housatonic River Adventure will arrive at the park for lunch and launch again for an afternoon paddle to Lenox. Learn more about this 10 day river adventure at www.hvatoday.org.
