Pittsfield: Fishing derby to be held at Wild Acres
Mayor Daniel Bianchi and the City of Pittsfield Conservation Commission, along with Lyon Aviation, will sponsor a free fishing derby for youth 14 and under from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Wild Acres located off South Mountain Road. The event will be held rain or shine.
Onota Fishing Club will assist with dressing fish, providing fishing tips and techniques, baiting, etc. Trophies will be awarded to those who catch a tagged fish. Bait will be provided, and a limited amount of fishing poles will be available for use on a first come, first serve basis to those who do not own one.
Anyone from the community who needs accommodations for handicapped vehicle access is asked to call (413) 281-0064. Instructions will be provided on how vehicles with handicapped persons can park adjacent to the pond area.
