Pittsfield: Freeman Center announces sexual assault awareness campaigns

Friday April 5, 2013

This April, in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Elizabeth Freeman Center, the Berkshire County organization dedicated to providing services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, will be marking the month with several awareness raising campaigns. The public is invited to participate.

EFC will hold two rallies against sexual violence in Park Square, one on Wednesday, April 10, and another on Wednesday, April 24, both from 4 to 6 p.m.

At each rally, 220 teal (the color designating sexual assault awareness) flags will be planted in Park Square -- one for each sexual assault survivor the agency served in 2012.

For more information on how to get involved in EFC’s April actions, which in addition to the rallies, will include bathroom flyer canvassing, a discussion at Berkshire Community College, and displays in local libraries, contact Becca at (413) 499-2425 or beccab@elizabethfreemancenter.org.
