Pittsfield: Genealogy course offered in October

Professional genealogist Alan Doyle Horbal will lead Basic Hands-on Genealogy from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Oct. 4 to 25, at the Berkshire Athenaeum, 1 Wendell Ave.

The course includes instruction on researching the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, and 1940 U.S. Census, and using databases to search for family members.

All students must have an email account and be computer literate. Bring a laptop or use one at the library.

Space is limited; students should attend all four classes.
