Pittsfield: Health educator to discuss food cravings

The Jewish Federation of the Berkshires will present the workshop, "Overcoming Food Cravings for Sugar, Salt, Fatty Foods, and More," with holistic health educator Alison Shore Gaines at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road.

The program is open to the public at a cost of $3.

Gaines’ presentation will include mindfulness meditation, a discussion regarding how some foods can be habit forming, strategies for keeping food cravings at bay, and ideas for healthier substitutes.

A question and answer period will conclude the session.

Gaines has been teaching healthy lifestyle programs at Kripalu Center in Stockbridge since 1988.
