Pittsfield: Heroin documentary to be screened Tuesday


Mayor Linda Tyer and U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal will present a community screening of the HBO documentary, "Heroin: Cape Cod USA" at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Berkshire Community College, Koussevitzky Arts Center, 1350 West St.

Lise King, the producer of the documentary, will introduce the film which runs approximately 77 minutes.

A panel discussion about current efforts to reduce the drug problem in Berkshire County will follow. John Rogers, vice president and general counsel of Berkshire Health Systems, will moderate the discussion.

Panelists include North Adams Mayor Richard Alcombright, Berkshire County Sheriff Thomas Bowler, Police Chief Michael Wynn; Dr. Alex Sabo, Berkshire Medical Center; Ananda Timpane, executive director, Railroad Street Youth Project; and Chris MacBeth, CEO, The Brien Center.
