Pittsfield: High Holy Days at Temple Anshe Amunim


Temple Anshe Amunim, 26 Broad St., will celebrate the Jewish High Holy Days with a full schedule of services with Rabbi Josh Breindel and Cantorial Soloist Dara Rosenblatt.

Sunday, Oct. 2: Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) evening services at 7:30 p.m., followed by an oneg (festive reception).

Monday, Oct. 3: Rosh Hashanah family service at 9 a.m. (one service for preschoolers and another for grade-schoolers); Congregational service at 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 4: Rosh Hashanah in Nature at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox. Free. Babysitting will be provided.

Sunday, Oct. 9: Memorial Service of Faith at 10:30 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery.

Tuesday, Oct. 11: Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), Kol Nidre service with world-renowned violinist Yevgeny Kutik at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 12: Family service at 9 a.m.; Congregational service at 10:30 a.m.; Yom Kippur Study Session at 1:30 p.m.; Afternoon service led by the Temple's Religious School students at 3 p.m.; The Yizkor (memorial) and Ne'ilah (closing) services at 5 p.m. followed by a break-the-fast reception. Babysitting will be provided.

Those who wish to attend Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur services should contact the temple office to arrange for tickets.
