Pittsfield High School opens golf season with win

GREAT BARRINGTON -- In the season-opening event for both squads, the Pittsfield High School golf team had three players shoot under 40 to take command of a 155-185 win over Mount Everett at Egremont Country Club. It was the season opener for both squads.

Pittsfield's Adam Brickle was medalist with a 37. He birdied the second and fourth holes. He was followed by Ryan Grande and Nick Martin, both of whom shot 38s. Devin Farnum's 38 led the Eagles. Farnum had a birdie on No. 2.

LANESBOROUGH -- The Warriors got a medalist-winning 43 from Joey Szczepaniak to lead them in this win

"It was the first match for both teams today, and it showed," said Crusader coach Fran Brilliant. "Everyone struggled on the middle part of the course today."

Danielle Lapierre's 44 led the Crusaders. The Warriors' Cam Collins birdied the sixth hole at the par-35 Skyline Country Club.
