Pittsfield: Hospital chapel to host weekly meditation

Weekly meditation sessions will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. starting Friday, June 21, in the Berkshire Medical Center Chapel, 725 North St. All are welcome to participate.

Meditation in the Chapel is dedicated to Dr. Jordan Fieldman who passed away in 2006 at the age of 38. Fieldman was the first to offer meditation at the hospital, so this initiative by the Pittsfield Sangha is carrying on his intention.

The Pittsfield Sangha also offers a weekly meditation at 6 p.m. on Thursdays with dharma speakers, DVDs, discussion, and the support of a spiritual community at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 175 Wendell Ave.

In association with the Berkshire County Sheriff's Office, there is a Monday meditation from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the George Crane Memorial Community Center at 81 Linden St.

All three meditation sessions are without charge.
