Pittsfield: Interfaith benefit for Syrian refugees

First Church of Christ, Congregational, will host the ninth annual Good Friday experiment in music and meditation at 7 p.m. Friday, March 25. The church is located at 27 East St. on Park Square.

On the 50th anniversary of John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme," an interfaith jazz ensemble and the First Church singers of "Between the Banks" will join together to celebrate the power of love in caring for a broken culture.

In addition to Coltrane's composition, the program will include the works of contemporary poets and music by Ann Heaton, George Harrison and others.

A free will offering will be taken for Church World Service, an ecumenical relief network providing aid for Syrian refugees.
