Pittsfield: Jazz ensemble to perform Mother's Day concert

The blood drum spirit jazz ensemble will present a Mother's Day concert of original and traditional music in jazz and global traditions at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 74 First St.

The concert will honor and remember loved ones lost through death or separation. People are invited to bring photos, poems, writings, or other remembrances for display in the church during the concert.

The ensemble includes saxophonist David Bindman, pianist Matan Rubinstein, bassist Wes Brown, and percussionist Royal Hartigan.

A free will offering is requested to support the church's programs. Everyone is invited to attend this event, supported by Berkshires Jazz.
