Pittsfield: Jimmy Fund fishing derby slated Saturday

Posted

The 24th annual Harry A. Bateman Memorial Jimmy Fund Fishing Derby will take place from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4, at the Frank Controy Pavilion at Onota Lake.

No fishing license is required as June 4-5 is free fishing weekend in Massachusetts.

The fishing derby is open to the public and its purpose is to raise money for the Jimmy Fund-Dana Farber Cancer Institute for Children.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy Fund in memory of Harry A. Bateman, a former member of Central Berkshire Bowman and IUE Local 255.

Fifteen trophies and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

The fee, which includes food and beverages, is $10 for adults, and $5 for children age 14 and younger.
