Zion Lutheran Church will host "Beer & Hymns & Showtunes" 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the back room of Baba Louie’s Pizza, 34 Depot St.

As a special feature, the group will be invited to call out favorite showtunes to sing in addition to the usual selection of hymns and songs. The musicians will play songs from "The Sound of Music" and "The Wizard of Oz," as well as jazz standards like "What a Wonderful World."

Leading the evening will be pianists Timothy Weisman, Andy Barnett and Amy Renak, as well as Andy Wrba, string bass, and Bill Chapman, drums.

Beverages and Baba Louie’s menu items will be available for purchase. There is no admission fee or cover charge and all seating is general admission.

A free-will offering will be taken to support the Pittsfield Area Council of Congregations Emergency Fuel Fund.
