Pittsfield man, 22, is killed in rollover crash in Minnesota
A 22-year-old Pittsfield man was killed Wednesday night when the Toyota he was driving was involved in a roll-over accident in Mower County, Minn.
Jared M. Burnell, of Pittsfield, was traveling east on I-90 in rainy weather at about 11:30 p.m. when his 2009 Toyota Corolla veered into the median, rolled over and came to rest in the westbound lane, where his vehicle was struck by a 2000 Cadillac Deville, according to police and news reports. Two occupants of the Cadillac, both 18-year-olds, suffered minor injuries.
The accident occurred near Dexter, Minn.
Police report that Burnell was partially ejected from the vehicle during the accident, although he was wearing a seat belt and the driver's side air bag did deploy.
Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, police said.
