Pittsfield man arraigned on sex assault charges
PITTSFIELD -- An 18-year-old Lanesborough man was arraigned on sexual assault charges on Wednesday in Berkshire Superior Court.
Appearing before Superior Court Judge John A. Agostini, Chad Foley of Irvin Street pleaded not guilty to single counts of rape and abuse of a child: no force; and indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14.
Agostini released Foley on personal recognizance under the condition that he have no contact with the alleged victim. He is represented by Attorney Edmund St. John IV of Adams. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Eramo.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred in Pittsfield between Aug. 1 and Aug. 5, 2012. They involve a 13-year-old girl.
