Pittsfield man charged with marijuana and mushroom possession
PITTSFIELD -- A Pittsfield man was charged with drug possession and driving under the influence of drugs after police responded to a car accident on Churchill Street early on Thursday morning.
Terance Moore, 26, of West Housatonic Street, was arrested after police responded to the scene of a Nissan Altima which went off the road and was stuck in a snowbank near Camp Winadu at about 1:09 a.m. A Pittsfield police officer allegedly observed Moore in an intoxicated state, Pittsfield police Captain John Mullin said.
Police searched Moore’s vehicle and allegedly found more than one ounce of marijuana and approximately one ounce of psilocybin mushrooms in a backpack, Mullin said. Police also found a digital scale in the vehicle, he said. Moore was the only person in the vehicle, he said.
Moore faces charges of possession of marijuana to distribute, a class D drug, and possession of psilocybin mushrooms, a class C drug.
Moore was scheduled to be arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court on Thursday for the charges.
