PITTSFIELD -- A 52-year-old Pittsfield resident was given a year probation after pleading guilty to child porn possession on Thursday in Berkshire Superior Court.

David Brown Sr., of Grove Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of knowingly possessing visual material of a child depicted in sexual conduct and was sentenced to a year of probation by Judge Daniel A. Ford. Brown admitted he was in possession of the porn in June 2010.

As part of Brown's plea deal, he is required to let the probation department search his home to make sure he has no computers or Internet access during his probation.

Brown also agreed to register as a sex offender.

The investigation was conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office.
