Pittsfield: Mentoring program seeks volunteers

Posted

Volunteers are being sought for the Family Promise Mentoring Program, sponsored by Berkshire Housing Development Corp. in partnership with the Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority.

The program's goal is to provide advocacy for individuals or families within the county in need of support to become more self-reliant. Assistance for participants includes identifying goals, stable housing, managing budgets with limited resources, and connecting to community resources.

An interview is required. Once selected, mentors will receive training and ongoing support to fulfill their role with a participating family.

Training will begin at the end of April; a commitment of one to two hours each week is requested.

For more information, contact program coordinator Ida Patella at 413-499-1630, ext. 103.
