Pittsfield: Milling, paving to begin on city streets

As part of the city's Street Improvement Project, the Department of Public Services will be milling and repaving the following streets:

East Housatonic Street; Deming Street (from East Housatonic to Elm); Hubbard Avenue (from East to railroad bridge); intersection of Francis Avenue and West Street (near the Salvation Army); and Jason Street (from West approximately 500 feet southerly).

To allow for milling operations, a temporary no parking ban will be in effect for these streets from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. according to the following schedule:

East Housatonic on Monday, Aug. 1; Deming and Hubbard on Tuesday, Aug. 2; and Francis, West and Jason on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Parking may resume following the completion of the milling work and will be temporarily suspended again to accommodate the upcoming paving work.

Any vehicles found parked during these times are subject to towing at the owner's expense. Travelers may expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
