Pittsfield: 'Not Just Pink' exhibit benefits Moments House

Posted
PITTSFIELD — "Not Just Pink," a fundraising art event with a theme of cancer awareness, will open from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave.

An after party from 8 to 10 p.m. will include musical entertainment by The Shadow Twisters and refreshments. The opening reception coincides with Pittsfield's "First Fridays Artswalk."

The fundraiser benefits Moments House, a non-profit gathering place for those fighting cancer, including their family and friends.

In conjunction with the show, also at the Whit, cancer survivor Andrea Feldman will present a slideshow and talk at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, on how she used painting to transform the physical and emotional stress of a life-threatening illness. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 1 p.m.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Berkshire Medical Center's Breast Health Team, Berkshire Health Systems and the Whitney Center for the Arts.

"Not Just Pink" will continue until the end of October. The gallery will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays, during the Whit's extensive event schedule, and by appointment. Call Curator Leo Mazzeo at 413-281-6665 for more information.
