Pittsfield: Open call for artists for ‘Forty Shades of Green’ exhibit

Artists are invited to submit original two and three-dimensional artwork for a group exhibit titled "Forty Shades of Green: Celebrating Ireland & Irish Culture" at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts.

The exhibit is co-sponsored by the city’s Office of Cultural Development and the Irish Sister City Committee.

Both contemporary and traditional artwork on the theme of Ireland and Irish-American culture are encouraged, including photography, painting, sculpture, craft, and video or sound installations.

The show is open to all artists, and submissions should be brought to the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts between noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 2, and Monday, March 3, in order to be included.

Artists planning to submit work are encouraged to contact Shiobbean Lemme of the Lichtenstein Center beforehand at (413) 499-9348 or cultural@pittsfieldch.com.

The exhibit runs from March 7 to 29. A public reception will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, featuring live Irish music and refreshments. A portion of all art sales will benefit the programs of the Irish Sister City Committee.
