Pittsfield: Parenting series for parents of young children

Monday January 7, 2013

"How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk," a free eight week parent education series, will begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Berkshire Community College.

This common sense series for parents is based on the book of the same title. The series is for families with children from birth to age 6.

The class will have a weekly discussion and video format and provide parent workbooks.

The research-based curriculum teaches parents how to gain their child’s cooperation, set limits, use alternatives to punishment and resolve family conflicts peacefully.

This is a free class that includes dinner for participants. Free on-site child care and transportation is available if needed.

Call to register at (413) 664-4821.

This is a Child Care of the Berkshires program and is funded through a grant from The Massachusetts Children’s Trust Fund.
