Peter Taussig, director of the popular after-school music program PianoKids -- Piano Lessons for the Computer age -- which he founded in 2002, has announced that he will be stepping down in the new year to pursue a full-time career in composition and writing.

Taking his place is Delia Murray of Dalton, a veteran music teacher and administrator who has been with the organization since 2008, teaching PianoKids classes at the Berkshire Music School and assisting the outgoing director for the past year.

Murray is a graduate of the New Jersey City State University in music education and piano with extensive experience in customer service and human resources. She will be overseeing registration of new students for the 2013 winter semester that starts in January.

Free tryout lessons for interested parents and their children, ages 6-10, have started and can be scheduled by calling (413) 637-1168 or visiting the organization’s website at www.pianokids.com.

PianoKids classes take place in Pittsfield, Great Barrington, and Lenox.
