Pittsfield Police investigate robbery at rail trail parking lot
PITTSFIELD -- Police are investigating a robbery that took place in the south parking lot of the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail on Wednesday morning.
A man was robbed of cash in the parking lot, said Capt. John Mullen. The incident was reported to Pittsfield Police at 11:29 a.m.
Police declined to say how much cash was taken, and whether a weapon was used in the incident. The victim, who is male, was not injured, Mullen said.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot white male with black or gray hair who weighs around 190 pounds. He was wearing a Boston Bruins baseball cap, a red hoodie-style sweatshirt, blue jeans and workboots.
He left the area in a red four-door Saturn. The license plate number is unknown.
Both Lanesborough Police and security guards at the Berkshire Mall assisted in the initial investigation.
