Pittsfield police investigating armed home invasion


PITTSFIELD — Police are searching for three armed men who broke into a city home on Sunday evening and assaulted and robbed four people.

The trio apparently entered the Maplewood Avenue home carrying weapons, assaulted the residents, bound their hands and then stole cash and personal property, according to a Pittsfield Police Department news release. The suspects then fled on foot.

Pittsfield Police officers, including a K9 unit, and the Massachusetts State Police discovered the victims after responding to a 911 call about 10:20 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation by members of the Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Services.
