Pittsfield Police investigating teen’s disappearance ‘as a runaway case’


PITTSFIELD -- Police are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a city teen.

"We’re working feverishly on this case," said Pittsfield Police Detective Capt. Patrick F. Barry on Wednesday afternoon. "We are investigating it as a runaway case."

Zackary Lawrence was last seen outside his home at 10 Francis Ave., between 5 and 7 last Friday evening, said police.

The 14-year-old is described as a white male, with a pierced left ear and braces on his upper teeth.

The teen is 5-foot-5, weighs 116 pounds and has hazel eyes and brown hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a black shirt with a red diamond on the chest, red denim pants, and blue and black sneakers.

Pittsfield Police Detective John Gray is the lead investigator in the case.
