Pittsfield Police release images of would-be Subway robber
PITTSFIELD -- The Pittsfield Police Department has released images of a white man they say is wanted for attempting to rob the Subway on Tyler Street last week.
The man is of a medium to large build, appears in his mid-30s to early 40s, stands approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs as much as 250 pounds.
At 9:17 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, the suspect entered the sandwich shop and paced around the store briefly before pulling a mask over his head, flashing a small knife and demanding money from the cashier.
At that point a second employee entered the room and the suspect fled.
Police culled the images, which were released Friday, from footage captured at another sub shop, Angelina's Subs, located farther down on Tyler Street. They say the suspect first entered Angelina's then left Angelina's prior to attempting to rob the Subway restaurant. They also released the footage itself.
Anyone who knows the person in the images should contact lead Detective Nicholas DeSantis at 413-448-9705.
