Pittsfield police track armed robbers

Tuesday September 11, 2012

PITTSFIELD -- City and state police on Monday night were tracking three armed men who reportedly robbed a woman in her Wahconah Street apartment.

Around 9:35 p.m., the suspects -- two carrying guns and one a knife -- kicked in the door of an apartment at 403 Wahconah St., according to Pittsfield police.

The suspects quickly fled on foot, but it’s unclear if what, if anything, they stole from the victim, who wasn’t injured during the ordeal.

Police responding to the area immediately began searching for the suspects, who apparently ran into an area between Wahconah Street and St. Joseph’s Cemetery along Pecks Road.

The three men were all wearing hoodies, baseball caps and bandanas covering their faces, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should call the Pittsfield Police Department at (413) 448-9700.
