Pittsfield Post 68 falls to Longmeadow
LONGMEADOW >> Pittsfield Post 68 finished its eighth game in seven days with a 3-1 road loss to Longmeadow on Monday.
The game did not start well for Post 68, as starter Ethan Forfa left after one inning with a tired arm. He allowed one run. Ross Omelenchuck and Michael Hurley pitched the remaining five innings.
Longmeadow starter Justin Feldman did a good job of mixing pitches and keeping Post 68 off balance. He allowed only four hits and struck out three.
Pittsfield's lone run came in the seventh. Izaiya Mestre drew a walk. Patrick Colvin singled and Matt Stracuzzi drew a walk to load the bases. Abdiel Cotto's fly out allowed Mestre a tag up and score, but that was all the visitors could muster. Matt Koperniak led Pittsfield with two hits. Nate Irwin had two hits and two RBI for Longmeadow.
Ethan Forfa (1), Ross Omelenchuck (2 1/3), Michael Hurley (2 2/3) and Matt Schneider. Justin Feldman and Criag Conklin. W — Feldman. L — Omelenchuck .
