Pittsfield: PPS to host parent meeting on instrumental music program

The Pittsfield Public Schools will host an Instrumental Music Parent Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, in the Pittsfield High School auditorium for students currently enrolled in any of the eight public elementary schools.

Parents or guardians who have children in grades 3-5 may sign their child up for in-school music lessons this year.

The parent meeting will be an opportunity to learn more about the program and give parents a chance to ask questions.

In order to be enrolled in lessons, students must obtain a good working musical instrument.

An instrument rental night will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Taconic High School cafeteria. Two rental companies will be present to rent out instruments.
