Pittsfield: Real estate bills mailed, due Aug. 1


City Collector Marilyn W. Sheehan has announced that the Fiscal 2015 first and second quarter bills were mailed to all homeowners and businesses on June 30.

The bill has two coupons enclosed with the first quarter taxes due Friday, Aug. 1, and the second quarter due Monday, Nov. 3.

The first quarter covers July, August and September 2014. The second quarter covers October, November, and December 2014.

First quarter payments received after Aug. 1 will be subject to a interest charge of 14 percent back to the due date.

Payments and payment coupons can be mailed to the City of Pittsfield, P.O. Box 981063, Boston, MA 02298-1063; paid in person at the Tax Collector’s Office, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; online at www.pittsfield.org; or by telephone at (888) 565-1167.

Residents cannot apply for abatements or exemptions on the Preliminary Fiscal 2015 bills, only on the actual bills, per the Assessors.
