Pittsfield restaurateurs nominated for award

PITTSFIELD -- Sabrina Tan and Chin Lee, the owners of Flavours of Malaysia Restaurant on McKay Street, are among 36 immigrants who have founded businesses in Massachusetts that are nominated for The Immigrant Learning Center's third annual Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards.

Tan and Lee have been nominated in the neighborhood business category. The three other categories are grow business growth, life science and high tech.

The winners in each category will be announced at the Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 8 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge. Ticket and sponsorship information is available at http://www.ilctr.org/events/2013-immigrant-entrepreneur-awards-dinner.

Department of Transportation Secretary Richard A. Davey Jr. will serve as master of ceremonies.

Based in Malden, The Immigrant Learning Center, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization that helps immigrants and refugees become successful workers, parents and community members through direct service programs and public education.
