The Ralph J. Froio Senior Center will be hosting an Intergenerational Literacy Day celebration, in conjunction with the Marilyn Hamilton Sports and Literacy program, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Onota Lake Controy Pavilion located in Burbank Park.

Storyteller Carolyn Calandro of Falls Village, Conn., the guest reader, will present an interactive program for both seniors and youth. Food will be provided by the Springside Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.

The senior center has participated in a reading exchange with the Hamilton program, allowing the seniors to read to children and the children to read to seniors.
