Pittsfield: Sheriff to speak about outreach service programs


Sheriff Thomas Bowler will speak about his outreach service programs on Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsfield, 175 Wendell Ave.

The Sunday service starts at 10 a.m. with Sunday School and child care at the same time.

Bowler will speak about this pro-active approach and the connection to social action as a spiritual responsibility of the community.

The sheriff's office is collaborating with the church and the George Crane Memorial Center to offer a weekly meditation group led by the Pittsfield UU Meditation Sangha.

The group meets at 6 p.m. on Mondays at the George Crane Memorial Center and is open to the public.
