Cal Ripken state tournament
SUTTON -- Williamstown's Landen Jamula had a good effort on the bump in a 10-under state tournament game on Sunday. Unfortunately for Jamula and his teammates, Uxbridge's Zach Feeney was better.
Feeney gave up a run on two hits and struck out 12 in Uxbridge's 3-1 win. He went the distance to end District 1 champion Williamstown's tournament run.
Jamula went five innings, giving up two runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out seven.
The only run Williamstown scored came in the first inning when Feeney walked Derek Paris. After Paris went to second on a passed ball, Jamula hit an RBI single.
Jamula gave up two runs in the fifth and Uxbridge scored an insurance run in the sixth.
District 1 runner-up Lee also went 1-2 over the weekend.
