Pittsfield: Staged readings illustrate oppression

Temple Anshe Amunim and Congregation Knesset Israel are sponsoring "Created Equal: Battling Oppression," staged readings of four short plays by Jesse Waldinger illustrating little-known stories of some victims of oppression, at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at Temple Anshe Amunim, 26 Broad St.

The plays, written by Jesse Waldinger, include "General Washington's Property," "Travis' Boy," "Mrs. Butler Returns," and "Rabbi Franklin's Model T."

The program features professional actors directed by Barbara Waldinger. Admission is $20.

The readings will be followed by refreshments and a discussion with the playwright, director, cast, and special guests.
